Help Celebrate Cordero Staff with Warm Messages Written on Mittens! DUE 12/13

Please see the message from the Class Parents of the PTA:

Dear Parents and Guardians,

During the holiday season, we reflect on the past year and then challenges we faced. Thanks to the extra ordinary efforts of our teachers and staff our children were able to continue to learn, grow and build friendships in an adapted environment. With that said, we would like to show our appreciation for all their hard work; by giving a teacher or staff member a Shoutout and/or Thank You!

On the mitten templates, we ask your child to please write something that a staff member and/or teacher has done which they appreciate! Feel free to color and decorate the mittens. Lastly, please make sure to cut them out.

Please return the mittens to your child's teacher by Monday, December 13th!

The completed mittens will hang on the ‘Appreciation Wall’ when you first walk into the
school. The goal is to have this complete before winter break.

Thank you for supporting our staff and recognizing the wonderful things they do!

Thank you to the PTA for Organizing Faculty Fridays

6th Grade Vaccination Requirement

Please see the attached letter from Nurse Stone. Applies to all children born after January 1, 1997 and in Grade 6 (or an appropriate Grade level)

Please note, as mentioned in the document, that if required vaccinations are not completed by January 1, your child may be excluded from school.

Please ask any questions to her via email: bstone@jcboe.org

Pre-K Vaccination Requirement

This is just a reminder that the State of New Jersey requires children six months through 59 months of age attending any licensed child care or preschool facility to annually receive the influenza before  December 31 of each year.

According to the law, if pre-K children enrolled in your building who do not receive the flu vaccine by December 31, 2021, he/she must be excluded from school for the flu season (through March 31st), until they receive the one dose of the influenza vaccine, or until they turn 60 months of age, unless exempt.

There is no grace period given for unvaccinated children. Therefore, children will not be able to return to school on January 3, 2022 without proof of immunization.

REMINDERS

Appointments

Parents, please refrain from setting up appointments during the school day. Every minute that your child misses will be critical for their education. In addition, the calls for students interrupt valuable classroom instruction. We are asking that you make every effort to make appointments before or after school times.

Lateness

Parents, please be reminded students are to be present at school by 8:30. We have a number of students arriving late and missing valuable minutes of education. Please do your best to ensure that they are here on time every day.
